Driscoll Health Plan is a non-profit, community-based health insurance organization with one main goal:
improve the lives of South Texas families through quality healthcare.
Our journey began in 1998 when the Driscoll Foundation developed and funded what would become a beacon of health and hope for our community. That same year, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) licensed Driscoll Health Plan (DHP) as a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO).
DHP is a vital part of the Driscoll Health System and proudly stands alongside Driscoll Children's Hospital, an institution that has been the cornerstone of care for South Texas children and their families for over seven decades. We serve a 14-county area surrounding Nueces County and a 10-county area in the Rio Grande Valley. Our programs include both Medicaid-managed and low-cost coverage options for children, young adults and expecting mothers.
