Program Requirements
There are two sets of requirements. One is general program terms, and the second involves a family’s financial situation. Families must meet both program and financial terms to be eligible for Medicaid or CHIP.
- Be a U.S. citizen or meet certain immigration rules
- Be a resident of the state where the application is processed
- Have a Social Security number
Programs are also designed to accommodate certain groups.
