Medicaid Coverage

Coverage for babies post-delivery. Secure your baby’s plan now, so they are covered once born. 
Call 2-1-1 to choose the Medicaid plan you need.

Coverage for mom after birth. Effective March 1, 2024, HHSC has extended postpartum coverage for CHIP and Medicaid members from 2 months to 12 months after your delivery. Click below to learn more or call 2-1-1 and choose Option 2.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Medicaid

A supplemental nutrition program to get the services, support and inspiration you need for a balanced diet while pregnant and postpartum.

WIC-eligible Texans include:
  • Pregnant women
  • New moms
  • Infants and children up to 5 years of age.
WIC’s benefits include:
  • Access to delicious and healthy food
  • Nutrition counseling with nutritionists and dietitians
  • Breastfeeding counseling with International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs)
  • Referrals to other supportive services

Text4Baby is a free app offering health and safety information on topics such as nutrition and sleep. The app helps you keep up with medical appointments and how your baby is growing each week.
