From May to August, the Health Plan continually partnered with local organizations all around South Texas to make backpacks and school supplies accessible to community members at no cost. This year, the Health Plan partnered with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, an NBA G-League, to bring a Back to School Expo for Edinburg, Texas, and the surrounding areas. Over more than 2,000 students and families attended the Back to School Expo to the Bert Ogden Arena. Students received backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, lunch boxes, vaccinations, sports physicals, and families application assistance. We were delighted to know that each student that attended was gifted with more than enough school supplies to last for the whole year.
