Creating a unique learning experience for South Texas families. Driscoll Health Plan presented a $10,000 check to Texas Children in Nature Network (TCiNN) to create a Library Educational Adventure Pack (LEAP) program. The program will address health disparities through nature along with improving physical, behavioral and mental health of local children and their families. Children will be equipped with the materials to learn how to plant, grow, harvest fruit and vegetables with LEAP’s Adventure Packs. Along with the LEAP program, eight libraries in the Hidalgo and Cameron counties will participate in the Nature Backpack Lending Program, which will allow families to explore the outdoors with two admission passes for valley state parks and an outdoor fishing pack.
